The Wedding

Chicago Street Photography: This is a cool and common scene in the city in summer – Brides and grooms and wedding parties standing on the iconic red bridges downtown to pose for photos. I bet the close up professional shots are stunning. With love, ~Page Light Studios

Friends At The Pavilion

Chicago Street Photography: I had to react quickly to get this photo of a group of women meeting up in Ping Tom Memorial Park in Chicago’s awesome Chinatown. I love their colorful dresses and the cool Asian architecture of the pavilion. With love, ~Page Light Studios

Daisies And Skyscrapers

Chicago Street Photography: It’s true, I am posting yet another flower photo. But I couldn’t help it; I think daisies are the most beautiful flower, and these were perfectly situated in front of the Chicago skyline. With love, ~Page Light Studios

Princess Fluffers And Her Royal Guard Dog

Chicago Street Photography: I am endlessly amused by surprises in street photography… I didn’t notice the watchful guard dog in the background until I uploaded the photo into Lightroom. Princess Fluffers was safe and protected on this day! With love, ~Page Light Studios

It’s still a favorite, after all these centuries! The first recorded version of the Pattycake rhyme is from 1698. Coincidentally, Boston Common, near where I took this photo, is the oldest city park in America, established in 1634. On Independence Day, 2017, this awesome girl is keeping history alive. With a smile. With love, ~PageContinue reading “Pattycake”

Boston Pops Camp Out

Having a picnic in Esplanade Park to listen to the Boston Pops Orchestra while overlooking the harbor at sunset is, apparently, quite the tradition in Boston. I can see why–it was a beautiful experience. These friends came prepared. With love, ~Page Light Studios

Boston Life

I love this shot of a young woman crossing the street in the North End neighborhood of Boston. She’s cool, modern and confident amidst centuries of fascinating and dramatic American history. Old and new. Evolution. Progress. With love, ~Page Light Studios

Harbor Selfie

Perfect moment to take a selfie: Boston Harbor in the background, Boston Pops Orchestra playing in the distance, and a crowd of people gathered to cheer for the coming Independence Day fireworks. I hope her photo captured the moment well! With love, ~Page Light Studios

Mardi Gras Bunny

My mind is in New Orleans, because I’m putting together travel posts about it. Meanwhile, here’s an unfiltered photo of a woman in a bunny costume, posing on Frenchman Street, just before the Krewe de Vieux parade is to begin, the first parade of Mardi Gras, 2017. Oh, NOLA, I can’t wait to come back.Continue reading “Mardi Gras Bunny”

Poke Pika Chu Cool Question Mark

Ok, so, either I caught an epic, major cultural and technological event for the history books, happening in real time, in the greatest city in the world, or… I snapped a photo of a human wearing a funny, fuzzy, pop-culture-related costume for attention in a popular, crowded and touristy city park. You be the judge.Continue reading “Poke Pika Chu Cool Question Mark”

Late Night

For this traveler, this photo shows exactly what it felt like to be out, late night, in Manhattan. Darkness with bright lights. Interesting and inviting dive bars. Stylish people. I loved it. With love, ~Page Light Studios

This photo, taken downtown Chicago, earned me my first, “Ma’am, you aren’t allowed to take photos here,” encounter. It was nice to feel like a real photographer for a moment, and then I agreed to stop immediately, of course. Glad I got this shot first! With love, ~Page Light Studios

City of Contrast

New York City is as diverse and broadly complex as any in the world. These two photos show barely any of that complexity, but they do give the smallest glimpse into the differences between two neighborhoods. The first shows an elegant woman on the roof of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in the Upper EastContinue reading “City of Contrast”

Blurred Lights, Big City

Late night. Back seat of a cab. New York City. (Well, technically, Astoria, Queens.) Blurred lights of the big city ahead, with the driver in focus. This moment made me think of all the times I’ve been isolated but totally on my own in life. Being on my own is awesome.   With love, ~PageContinue reading “Blurred Lights, Big City”

Blurry Times

*Someone* has become a little obsessed with blurring shots lately. This one resulted in such bright, lovely colors, I can’t stop staring at it. The world is a beautiful place. I’m sure you can tell where I shot it: Times Square, New York City, of course.   With love, ~Page Light Studios

First Impressions

I will never forget the first time I crossed into the Loop, downtown Chicago, on an ‘El’ train (the Brown Line). There’s this moment when you can see the Chicago River, several giant bridges, and all the skyscrapers in the distance. I will always be trying to capture that moment again. With love, ~Page LightContinue reading “First Impressions”
